TrainingVets.org is a Red Grail Charity. Our more well known, sister charity is Books For Soldiers. Our original focus is still the same today – supporting our soldiers regardless if they are deployed, stateside or a veteran.
We train US veterans for green energy jobs pertaining to alternate fuel powered vehicles including design, development, maintenance and repair.
Our Mission is to support our troops with access to clean tech education. The advancement of electric transportation, artificial intelligence and automation will require unique skill sets. We believe veterans will be a perfect fit for this new industry.
How We Got Started
It all started with a book. During the first Gulf War, our Founder, Storm Williams, a voracious reader, he had a closet full of paperback books he had already read. Books that I had already read and were not being used. So instead of selling them at the used book store, I packed them up in small care packages and sent them out to all the soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen he had addresses for.
Where We Are Now
After 9-11, he knew he wanted to do the same thing but needed help, and Books For Soldiers was born.
Now we are supporting the troops after they come home with quality training for the jobs of the 21st Century.
Where is the training center located?
We are located in Titusville, Florida on the Space Coast Regional Airport across the causeway from the Kennedy Space Center.
What areas does the training cover?
Our training consists of basic fundementals of the design, development, maintenance and repair of electric vehicles; both automotive and aerospace.
Why does training focus on electric vehicles?
The future of transportation is in EVs. Cars are rapidly moving away from combustion engines and toward electric. Most car companies have already planned to produce only electric cars in the future.
Automation will be another industry that will force the change to electric transportation.
In aerospace, aviation is the next industry to move towards electrification.
Drones too will need a skilled EV workforce in the very near future.
Do graduates qualify for an A&P license?
Those completing Training Vets’ aerospace program can qualify to sit for the FAA’s Airframe & Powerplant written, oral and practical exams.
